What to do if my newborn is still hungry after feeding?

It’s concerning when you think you’ve fed your newborn adequately, yet they still seem hungry. After a recent feeding, my little one was fussing and rooting, making me wonder if I did something wrong. This feeling of uncertainty can be overwhelming, especially for first-time parents who want to ensure their baby is well-nourished.

So, what could be the reasons behind a baby’s continued hunger? Could it be an issue with latching, or are they possibly going through a growth spurt? I’ve read that some newborns may benefit from smaller, more frequent feeds instead of longer intervals.

Has anyone experienced this with their newborn? What tips or methods have you found effective in helping your baby feel satisfied after feeds?

Have you considered trying to switch breasts during feeding? Sometimes that extra stimulation can help them get more milk, especially if they’re still acting hungry. Also, tracking their feeding times might help you spot if they’re really going through a growth spurt!

I totally get that worry! My baby went through a phase of always seeming hungry right after feeding. I found that doing some breast compressions helped keep the milk flowing better during feeds, and it really seemed to help. Also, frequent, smaller feedings definitely worked for us—he was way more settled that way!
