Is the Parenting Skill Cheat in Sims 4 Worth It?

As a new parent balancing work and family, I’ve been thinking about whether or not to use cheats in The Sims 4, especially the parenting skill cheat. With limited time for gaming, I want to make progress but still enjoy the game. Yet, I worry that using cheats could lessen the challenge and satisfaction of raising Sim kids.

Has anyone tried this cheat? Did it improve your gaming experience, or did it take away from the fun of discovering things on your own? I’d love to hear how using the cheat impacted your Sims’ family dynamics and whether it made parenting more enjoyable or less engaging for you.

I’ve used the parenting skill cheat a bunch, especially when I was juggling a lot IRL. Honestly, it made things smoother but maybe too easy at times. It does feel more rewarding to watch your Sim kids grow through challenges, but I get the time crunch! Just don’t think too hard about it and maybe try it out—you can always turn it off if it feels off.
