Is the Cypress College Child Development AS-T Program Worth It?

I’m considering enrolling in the Child Development AS-T program at Cypress College. With my busy household of kids of different ages, I often feel overwhelmed and could really use some structured guidance on child development. However, I’m also questioning if the program is worth the time and financial investment.

Has anyone here completed this program? I’m interested to know if you found the coursework practical or if it leaned more towards theoretical concepts. Balancing classes with parenting duties seems challenging! Did the program enhance your parenting skills, or did it feel more like just checking off a requirement? What was your most valuable takeaway from the experience?

I haven’t completed the program myself, but I’ve talked to a few parents who have. They mentioned that while the coursework has some theoretical aspects, a lot of it is very practical and can be applied directly to daily parenting situations. It sounds like the instructors really emphasize real-life scenarios, which might help with the balancing act of parenting and studying.

However, if you’re looking for immediate tools and strategies, you might also consider local workshops or online resources that can give you quick tips without the time commitment of a full program. Sometimes, a combination of both can give you the best of both worlds!

I haven’t done that program, but I’ve heard it can be super theoretical, which might not help with real-life parenting as much. Balancing classes and kids is definitely tough; maybe consider looking into online options for flexibility? Just a thought!
