Is Sleep Training Effective for Newborns?

I’ve been struggling with sleepless nights for a few months now, and I’m considering sleep training for my baby. I’ve noticed that parents seem to have a wide range of methods and opinions. Some of my friends swear by sleep training, while others believe it just increases stress for both the baby and the parents.

I want to make sure that any approach I take aligns with my goal of fostering a nurturing sleep environment and supporting learning through play. Has anyone here found a specific sleep training method that worked well for their newborn? Did you see any changes in your baby’s mood or sleep habits afterwards? What tips would you give to someone just starting this process?

We tried the Ferber method with our little one, and honestly, it took a couple of weeks, but it made a huge difference. She started sleeping through the night and was way happier during the day. Just be prepared for some tough nights at first!

I tried the Ferber method with my little one, and it actually helped him settle down after a week or so. He was definitely cranky at first, but then slept longer stretches, which was a game changer for both of us. Did you look into any specific methods yet, or are you still exploring?
