Flexibility seems to create a more relaxed atmosphere for my toddlers, leading to fewer meltdowns. Yet, I sometimes wonder if a bit more structure could help them feel more secure. I’ve definitely found that mixing a bit of structure with flexibility works best for us. Like, we have a rough bedtime routine, but some nights we let them stay up a little later if we’re having fun. It keeps things relaxed, but I think having that routine helps them know what to expect! How do you handle it during transitions, like switching from playtime to bedtime?

I’ve leaned more towards flexibility, too, especially during mealtime. It’s crazy how allowing my toddler to choose between two options made such a difference; less fuss and more joy at the table!
