How many boxes of newborn diapers should I buy?

Bringing home a newborn is an exciting yet overwhelming experience, and many new parents find themselves wondering how many boxes of newborn diapers they actually need. With all the prep to do, the countless options can make it tricky to know where to start.

Newborns typically go through about 10-12 diapers a day, which complicates figuring out how many to stock up on. Should you buy in bulk and risk running out of space, or purchase them as needed and end up making last-minute trips to the store? Experiences vary; some parents say a couple of boxes suffice, while others recommend having at least a month’s supply.

What has your experience been? How many boxes did you end up needing, and do you have any tips for managing diaper supplies efficiently?

I bought like four boxes and ran out within the first two weeks! It was chaos trying to figure out when to restock. Maybe keep a local store’s hours handy or stock up on the bigger sizes since they grow so fast. How did you decide on what brands to try?

We ended up needing way more than we thought! I bought three boxes of newborn diapers, but we went through them so quickly that I had to make a few late-night runs to the store. It might be better to start with a couple of boxes, then see how it goes—every baby is so different!
