How do you maintain your marriage after having a baby?

Bringing a newborn into your life can turn everything upside down for couples. It’s common to feel overwhelmed by parenting duties, leaving little time for quality moments as partners. Many new parents are searching for ways to keep their connection strong amidst the chaos of a baby’s needs.

What methods have worked for you in balancing your relationship with your spouse while caring for a new child? Have you found success with regular date nights, or do you prefer smaller daily routines to nurture your bond? Sharing your experiences—both the successes and the challenges—could really help others navigating similar situations.

It’s definitely tough, but I think smaller daily routines can be just as important as date nights. Even just making time to chat after the baby’s asleep or cooking together can help. It’s those little moments that saved us from feeling completely disconnected.

We started doing a weekly “at-home date night” after the baby went to bed. We’d order in, watch a movie, or play a game together. It felt small but really helped us reconnect amidst the craziness!
