How do you figure out baby feeding volumes for your little one?

With all the different advice out there about baby feeding volumes, it can be really confusing to know what’s right for your child. For example, I often wonder if my 9-month-old is getting enough nutrition. They refuse the bottle but can’t get enough of solid food. It makes it tough to balance their intake without turning mealtime into a struggle.

I’ve read that recommended volumes can vary a lot depending on age and developmental stages. How do you ensure your baby is getting the nutrients they need? Are there specific signs you look for that suggest you should increase or decrease their food intake? I’d love to hear any tips or guidelines that helped you navigate feeding during those early months!

Have you tried mixing some formula or breast milk into their solid foods? I found that helped my kid get the nutrition they needed without the bottle drama. Also, checking for diaper output is a good way to see if they’re getting enough—if they’re making plenty of wet diapers, that’s usually a good sign.

It can be tough to gauge exactly how much they need! I just pay attention to how they react during meals—if they’re reaching for more or seem satisfied after a meal. My little one also loves solids but went through a phase of not wanting bottles, so I mixed in more yogurt and purees to get those calories in. Just keep it chill, and they’ll let you know!
