In my experience, the compensation can feel a bit on the low side, especially with all the extra costs that come up, like clothes, school supplies, and activities. A lot of foster parents I know do take on part-time jobs to help make ends meet. It definitely requires some balancing act to manage everything financially while providing a supportive home.

I’ve been a foster parent for a couple of years now, and honestly, the payments can be pretty hit or miss. In my area, they’re decent but don’t cover everything, especially with kids needing extra support. Most of us I know have to have a side gig just to make ends meet.
